DODDERING

Sara flew in last Thursday for the reading.

I haven't seen her since January, when she moved to Colorado and started selling insurance. She's an adult now, with a car and a career and a new relationship.

Sammy drove Sara out on Friday and we all had lunch. I pulled out my debit card, but Sam insisted. Sara spent the night, and I drove her to the airport on Saturday morning.

It was a good trip, a quick trip. Real life isn't here anymore, it's somewhere else.

And then Sam, to demonstrate just how old he is, bought a goddamn motorcycle.

Perhaps my work here is complete.
